Why does America always support Israel?

    The current relationship between the US and Israel is quite tense as a result of Israel's insistence on building settlements in the West Bank. I think settlements on disputed land are probably a major cause of difficulties in US-Israeli relations.

    I think you are assuming that because the US doesn't openly criticize Israel, that it supports its actions. I don't think that's a correct assumption.

    I think the US government disagrees with many of the practices and activities of the government of Israel, but tolerates these practices because it considers Israel a strategic partner.

    And I think the US does the same thing in many countries. The US is often silent on human rights abuses in countries it considers important partners. The relationship between the US and Saudi Arabia, Turkey or Kyrgyzstan are a good examples of this type of "blind" relationship.
